Pass the Word VI Creates Community Creates Community space for Spoken Word on St. Thomas.
In January, I had the pleasure of attending Pass the Word VI (St. Thomas), founded by Katie Landry. My dear friend, fellow poet, author, visual artist and educator, Shanna T. Melton, was their guest poet and creative writing facilitator. It was deeply moving to be in the midst of so many talented writers, and to spend time sharing meals, meeting family members, and experiencing the beauty of St. Thomas and St. John. I am ever grateful to Shanna for allowing me to be a part of her journey, all the inspirational poets for welcoming my presence on the open mic, and to our talented and loving host Katie Landry, for ensuring our time on the island was nothing short of spectacular. Thank you!
Looking forward to my next visit, and wishing our beloved Pass the Word VI community continued strength and progress. Hope to see you out there.
